Industrial
Injury Claims: Workplace Bullying & Psychological Trauma
Reference: CTIIC
The
Industrial Injury Disability Benefit Scheme is a government
scheme to provide compensation
to those who become very
ill because of their employment. Unfortunately, a large
percentage of the claims for the ill-health effects
of workplace bullying are unsuccessful. This is for a
number
of reasons and this one-day course will explore these
pitfalls and more.
The course aims to give attendees an understanding of:
• the Industrial Injury Disablement Benefit scheme
• who can apply and for what
•
why it’s important that anyone who is very ill because
of bullying should claim
• the application process
• the issues specific to workplace bullying and stress-related
claims
• what makes a successful claim and
• how to apply this knowledge to your own situation
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, attendees will:
• Understand whether their bullying experience has contributed
to an industrial injury within the meaning of the IIDB
scheme
• How to apply
• Leave with a completed application form [where attendees
have enough information to do this]
• Access
to JFO’s
Industrial Injury forum for further support and advice
those
applying
to the scheme
Who should attend and why?
This workshop is relevant to anyone who has suffered ill-health
caused by bullying, harassment or discrimination. The
Department of Work & Pensions independently investigate
Industrial Injury claims and this can be included as
evidence in tribunals and civil cases. There is also
a financial benefit for successful claimants.
