To tackle workplace bullying effectively,
JFO need a strong team of individuals with complementary skills.
As
a collective
force, our directors' area of expertise covers the many facets
of
workplace bullying. These include advice and support
casework, financial benefits advice, legal knowledge,
psychology, counselling, training, coaching, personnel
management,
organisational behaviour and change management.
We are pleased to announce that our Directors are:
Jo
Anne Brown [Founder & Chair]
Jo is a former accountant and founded Just Fight On! following
her own experience of workplace bullying. She battled through
the 'system' – her ex-employers’ internal complaints and
appeals procedure, an Employment Tribunal, civil court and a
claim for Industrial Injury benefit - for five and a half years.
Jo has driven JFO forward from small beginnings, setting up the
original 100-page website in her bedroom. She is regularly
interviewed by the press about workplace bullying and in late
2005 took part in the BBC
TV series ‘Making Slough Happy’. Jo is
shortly to publish her
first book.
Nick Hanning
Nick is a lawyer specialising in personal injury cases caused by
workplace bullying, harassment and stress. He is currently
taking the Majrowski v Guys & St Thomas NHS Trust case to
the House of Lords, due to be heard in May, which challenges
the Court of Appeal ruling that an employer has vicarious
liability under the Protection From Harassment Act 1997.
Nick is a qualified legal executive and advocate and works for
Reynolds Williams in Poole, Dorset. He won the ground-
breaking Long v Mercury Mobile Communications Services case
in 2001.
Jess Pryce-Jones
Jess is Managing Director of iOpener, the only consultancy
focusing on happiness at work. She believes that everyone has
the power to change and grow and works with individuals,
teams and organisations to develop through focusing on
strengths. Jess was one of the experts on the BBC TV series
Making Slough Happy, through which she worked with Jo and
JFO.
Jess has worked in international business for many years,
including Brussels, Paris and London. She has degrees in
Classics and Psychology and is is currently writing a book
called ‘Happiness at work: your practical guide.’
Professor Agi Oldfield
Agi Oldfield is an Organisational Psychologist and a full time
academic. In addition to her full time academic post as
Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Management at
Richmond University, Agi also undertakes consultancy in
organisational risk management.
She has been a victim of bullying at work and has been
successful in taking her case to employment tribunal. More
importantly, she has survived the experience and has moved
on to a more positive and enriching work environment.
Damian Stoupe
Damian is a registered psychotherapist, hypnotherapist,
General Hypnotherapy Standards Council Validated Practitioner,
life coach and mediator. He runs the West Country Support
Group and is a member of the Network, which links workplace
bullying support groups around the world.
Damian worked in the materials/resource management and
training areas of manufacturing for 15 years, he later changed
his career path and extended his professional skills to
incorporate hypnotherapy, life coaching, mediation, counselling
and psychotherapy, to enable him to advise, help and treat
people who have wish to shape their own future rather than be
shaped by it.
Company Secretary
Helen
Green JFO was incorporated with the dedicated
assistance of Helen Green during this critical phase of our
development. She resigned prior to embarking on a 3-week
hearing in the High Court against her ex-employer, where she
was Company Secretary for approximately 95 companies for a
global investment bank. She will be taking a much-earned rest
afterwards and we wish Helen all the best for her case and
keep our fingers crossed that she is successful in seeking
justice.
Tina Goodyear Tina Goodyear has recently
been appointed as our Company Secretary to take over from
Helen. Tina has worked in local government for the
last 15 years in Personnel/HR. Her experience includes
recruitment and selection, management of long-term sickness
absence, staff redeployment, and equalities and diversity
issues. Tina also ran a focus group looking at the barriers to
disabled people in the local government sector. Prior to this,
she worked in finance/computer/secretarial related posts in
private sector businesses.
