Just Fight On! seeks Board Directors
  June 03, 2005

Just Fight On! was launched in April 2004 and it's already 6 months since we moved into our offices - how time flies! We are now ready to take our next step, that is to formalise as a company and registered charity.

As a community-based voluntary organisation, we wish to appoint directors from the community who have the right skills to enable us to comply with our legal requirements and to ensure that jfo is directed appropriately to meet its aims and objectives.

Please contact us if you would like an informal chat about any of the following positions:

Company Secretary
We wish to appoint a qualified [or near-qualified] company secretary. This person will be responsible for annual returns, legal compliance and ensure jfo is governed well. For legal reasons this position is open to residents in England and Wales only.

Treasurer
We wish to appoint a qualified [or near qualified] accountant. This person will be responsible for preparing management accounts, forecasts and year end financial accounts. You should ideally have at least 2 years experience and ACCA/ACA qualifications preferred.

Director/s
We wish to appoint at least one general director who will bring to the Board their skills and experience to help make jfo a success. Your experience may be in any area but should involve responsibility and maintaining high standards.

Specifications for all appointments
What will be involved: One to two meetings per year plus telephone conference calls. Additional specific or ad-hoc work depends on the person and appointment. These roles are not involved in the day to day running of jfo or its projects.

Person Spec: As a community group, we would prefer to use the skills of recovered targets, victims' supporters or those who have some kind of professional involvement in this area, although this is not essential. We seek responsible people, irrespective of a persons' 'diversity'. We do not discriminate on any grounds.

Location: Unless otherwise stated, we welcome applications from any country. For practical and legal reasons the majority of appointments will be residents of England and Wales. Proximity to Slough would be advantageous but not essential.

Payment: All appointments to the Board are unpaid positions. Travel and other necessary expenses for carrying out your role will be paid.

Length of appointment: We seek a commitment of at least one year, where possible.

Application Deadline: Please send your CV and a covering letter, telling us about your commitment to jfo and the anti-bullying community by 1st July 2005. You will find our address below. Please be honest - we are understanding of gaps in CV's and reasons for leaving employment!

Together we can...
