It
is often useful to know and understand the symptoms you
may have. Whether you are having face to face
therapy or not, self-help guides may also help, especially
if you may have to wait a long time for treatment. This

Dealing
with Trauma PDF
Word
Reaction
to a traumatic event is a very personal matter but these
notes may help you to know how others
have reacted in similar circumstances.
Right now you may be feeling helpless and confused. This
is usual. Reacting to an abnormal event
in your life takes time and energy. The mind as well as the
body needs time to heal. Be kind to yourself.
Be patient with yourself. This booklet
is designed to help you understand your feelings and to help
you.
Anxiety PDF Word
Some Stress and Anxiety is Normal and Necessary. A certain amount of anxiety and stress is normal and necessary
to perform any task properly. For example it is unlikely
that we will cross a road safely if we aren't slightly anxious
about the traffic. However too much or too little anxiety
will always make us less effective in what we are doing.
Depression PDF
Word
The word depression of course means different things to different
people. Some people may use the word to describe feeling
generally fed up, sad and blue, or just moody and irritable.
There are times when feeling this way may be perfectly normal:
during a bereavement for instance, if we are having problems
in a relationship, or when important events have not gone
well.
